wedding invitations : Custom Wedding Invitations Involve How Many Choices?

Custom wedding invitations are an essential part of your wedding planning but are you prepared for all the choices you will need to make when creating yours? You will want to be as informed as possible in preparation for these decisions so designing your invitations will be easier.

Here are some things you will need to know:

Budget - Before you begin your wedding invitation shopping, you may want to give some consideration as to how much you want to spend on them. Knowing your budget and the quantity you will be ordering will also help you figure out how much you can spend per invitation as well as help narrow down your choices. Also remember that response cards, reception cards, colored inks, return address printing, envelope lining, etc., will be extra costs if you choose any of these options and are not included in the invitation prices. Those prices are listed separately.

Theme refers to the appearance of the invitation such as design, pictures, colors, embellishments, etc. Is there a specific theme to your wedding that could be reflected in your wedding invitations? Themes can be flowers, beach or tropical, season of the year, specific colors, etc.

Style relates more to the type of invitation. Will you have a simple wedding invitation card or a folded piece? Will it be made out of layers of paper attached together or will it include your photo? A seal and send style is an economical choice that has a response postcard attached and simply folds up into its own mailing piece. Pocket wedding invitations are also popular as a modern style. You will also find that some styles look more modern than traditional or more formal than casual so your choice will depend on the tone of your wedding.

Paper - This choice typically includes the size and color of your invitation paper. Contemporary wedding invitations can come in special sizes such as square and tea length. Keep in mind that larger sizes may require extra postage so you should check into that before making your final selection. Solid color papers have also become more popular. Another consideration is being eco-friendly with your wedding invites by having them printed on recycled paper.

Verse Wording - There are many, many sample verses for custom wedding invitations or you can creatively write your own verse. Your choice of verse will depend on who is hosting your wedding - you and your fiance or your parents. Another decision will be having your reception details printed directly on your invitation if there is room or on a separate reception card.

Lettering or Font Style - You will find there is an enormous selection of lettering styles from which to choose and the offerings will vary among printers. One suggestion is to use a style that will be easy to read for your guests. Simpler, less script fonts tend to be easier to read.

Imprint Ink Color - Usually you are provided with several ink choices based on the invitation you choose. Keep in mind colored papers will affect how certain ink colors appear. Black ink is typically included in the invitation price with colored ink choices costing extra. Be sure to take notice of what color was printed on the sample as you may like how that color looks.

There are actually more things to consider as part of your custom wedding invitations ensemble but the items listed above pertain to the actual invitation itself. Other related choices involve extra insert pieces such as response cards, map cards, etc., as well as envelope options.

How to Look Elegant Yet Sexy on Your Wedding Day

Many brides are torn between a sexy look and an elegant, formal look on their wedding day. Depending on the theme of your wedding, there are several ways that you can have a balanced and tasteful blend of both. How to look elegant yet sexy on your wedding day involves not taking anything to extremes. You don't want to look trashy, but you don't want your future husband to remember you dressed as a school "marm" either.

Wedding Dress Styles:

The first thing to keep in mind when you are searching how to look elegant yet sexy on your wedding day is the style of dress. There are tastefully done wedding dresses that are made from elegant materials, with a hint of sexy style.

Things like bare shoulders or low necklines can be elegant and sexy, as long as they aren't showing too much. Some brides may choose short dresses and high heels versus long dragging trains, and there again, moderation is the key to looking elegant and sexy and not like a prostitute.

An empire waistline on a formal dress or a slinky, suggestive material in a long gown can be elegant and sexy. The important thing is to choose a style and material that is comfortable and elegant, and offers a hint on the sexy side through fit or features.

Hair Style on Your Wedding Day:

Many brides pull their hair back, to accommodate the veil, and others might opt for a floral wreath with a veil as part of their hairstyle. Even if you pull your hair back in a bun, leaving wisps of fine hair around the edges is always elegant, yet sexy. This look is especially attractive with a flower pearl tiara on top. A diamond tiara headband is attractive if you choose to leave your hair down.

No matter what length of hair you have how to look elegant yet sexy on your wedding day can involve pulling your hair back with rhinestone combs, barrettes or hair ornaments. There is a wide selection to choose from, and they can compliment a sleek, sheath style wedding dress that doesn't have a lot of embellishments on its own.

Jewelry For An Elegant, Yet Sexy Look:

There are many choices, when it comes to jewelry. Depending on your dress and hair style selection, you can get the look you are after by adding pearls, rhinestone chandelier drop earrings, a romantic locket, or a crystal necklace and earring set. Your bridal jewelry is an important part of achieving a finished look, and don't forget about your bridesmaid's gifts, too.

With so many options in jewelry and adorned headpieces or hair accessories, it is possible to turn a fairly plain dress into an elegant, yet sexy look with the proper amount of style to balance your hair and accessories. How to look elegant, yet sexy on your wedding day is easy to accomplish, just remember to balance everything in moderation for the best results.

Wedding dresses : Bridesmaid Basics - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Dress

We've all heard the horror stories about "Bridezilla," but what can you do when the one causing the trouble is one of your bridesmaids, or even your maid/matron of honor? Rather than throwing her out of the proceedings or conceding to all of her demands, there is a way to smooth ruffled feathers and keep the relationship intact.

You can head off many bridesmaid snafus by making the right choices to begin with. When selecting who will be in your wedding party, among your friends and family, keep in mind their basic personalities and abilities, as well as their financial means. Review the list of duties required by each member of the wedding party and make sure those you have in mind have the ability and the willingness to perform those functions. The last thing you want to do is strain close relationships during this highly emotional time. If those who are near and dear to you aren't particularly well-suited to the tasks you have in mind, remember that there are other wedding functions they can perform.

wedding dress-wedding gownsSometimes, though, it is necessary to include someone in the wedding party who tends to make waves, or cause unforeseen problems. For example, you may have allowed your bridesmaids to choose their own dresses in order to accommodate different tastes, body shapes or budgets, and one bridesmaid chooses a style you find ugly and unacceptable. One way to avoid this problem is to set some ground rules, i.e., length, sleeve style, fabric and color. You can also ask bridesmaids to send you a photo before buying the dress. If it's already been purchased, see what the others think of it before tactfully approaching the bridesmaid in question - she might reconsider her decision if everyone objects. If she's dead-set on wearing it, ask yourself if her dress is really a deal breaker. After all, she's the one wearing the dress!

If one of your bridesmaids has been repeatedly second-guessing your decisions and raising objections, something deeper might be beneath the surface. Try having a heart-to-heart with her about what's really bothering her. Is she the last single girl in the group and feeling like an old maid? Or perhaps her wedding was small and simple, while you're planning a lavish event. Try to isolate the problem and sympathize with her worries and fears. Then, help her feel like an important part of your celebration and let her know how much she means to you. She'll appreciate your thinking of her during this busy time in your life.

In fact, don't forget to show your appreciation to all of your bridesmaids for their help in making your day special. You might wish to gather them for a special lunch, tea or girls' night out before the wedding and tell them how grateful you've been for their participation. Be sure to thank them repeatedly throughout the planning stage for all that they do, and ultimately thank them with thoughtfully purchased attendant gifts. Never take them for granted-even the difficult ones! In the long run, you'll be glad you acknowledged their help and participation in your very special day!

beach wedding : Tips the Perfect Wdding Beach

beach wedding
To make your beach wedding more perfect here are a few good tips to remember:
1) Mobility!
While the image of a couple and their guests barefoot on the beach is quite romantic, it's not that practical unless your guest list is on the small side. Walking on sand can be awkward and older guests may not feel comfortable doing so. Some beach locations don't allow for seating so your guests may have to stand throughout the service. As an alternative, consider a ceremony set up on a boardwalk or grassy knoll that overlooks the beach. After the vows, the bride, groom, and photographer can go down to the beach for those special shots.Don't miss The Complete Guide to Weddings Abroad with it's complete beach wedding guide for choosing & planning a perfect beach wedding.

2) What to wear!
If your ceremony is held directly on the beach, you'll want to opt for a dress that is no longer than tea length. Since your guests will be barefoot too, it makes sense to inform them that the event is somewhat casual.

3) It gets hot!
Most beaches are wide open without any tree cover to provide shade. Depending on the season and location of the beach, guests at midday events run the risk of getting scorched by the sun. Remember that besides the air temperature, the sand gets really hot too. In fact, in some locations, it may be downright uncomfortable or painful to walk on the sand. You may want to schedule a morning wedding or one at dusk to avoid any heat-related problems.

beach wedding
4) Quality of the sand!
Some beaches are powdery soft while others and strewn with beautiful (yet sharp!) seashells. At some beaches, you and your guests may need to wear sandals to prevent being cut on shells or coral.

5) Sun glare!
If your wedding is at midday, you run the risk of sun glare. (That's right. A million photos of the bride and groom squinting at each other as they recite their vows.) Before the wedding, go to the beach at the time your wedding is slated for and determine which way to face in order to minimize glare and discomfort for the bride and groom and guests.

6) Noise!
You want your guests to hear every word of the ceremony and the vows that took hours to write. Yet, a beach can be a pretty noisy place. Make sure that your ceremony is not set up too close to the crest of the waves hitting the shoreline. (Outgoing tides are quieter than those coming in so you may want to check a tidal chart before selecting your ceremony time.)

7) Bugs & Insects!
Depending on the season and ceremony time, mosquitoes or other uninvited pests may become a problem. Light citronella candles or make sure everyone applies bug repellant before arriving to the beach.

8) Getting permission!
Many beaches are public or on the grounds of a state park. You'll need to get check local ordinances and get the approval of the county clerk's office or the management of the park. In many cases, you'll also have to pay a fee for a permit. The se governing agencies will also let you know if chairs, arches, open flames (candles), and musicians are allowed on the beach. Check these details before falling in love with any one location.
