wedding chapels

There are wedding chapels all over the U.S. where a couple can be married. A wedding chapel is usually different than a church. It's purpose is for marriage ceremonies only.

Traditional wedding chapels are generally small and marriage ceremonies are conducted by pastors and those legally licensed to perform marriages.

Las Vegas is famous for the number and variety of wedding chapels. Ceremonies are generally inexpensive in a wedding chapel. There are still laws which must be obeyed such as being a legal age to be married and having a marriage license.

Wedding chapels can be fun because many have specific themes. Some of the themed wedding chapels in Las Vegas include: Camelot, Austin Powers, Intergalactic, Harley, Egyptian, Elvis, Rock N Roll, Sigmund and Freuid, Pirate, Gangster, James Bond, Western, Gothic, Pink Caddy, Beach Party and many more. There is even a wedding chapel where you can drive-thru and get married while still sitting in your car.

If you do not want a themed wedding, there are many traditional wedding chapels located in Las Vegas as well. Wedding chapels can be a good choice for a quick and simple wedding and for those without many guests as space will be limited.

wedding bouquets

Aside from the wedding gown, bouquets are one of the essentials that a bride must have on her wedding day. In ancient times, a wedding bouquet was not only for show; it is said to keep evil spirits off the bride. During those days, garlands and herbs are usually carried instead of flowers. Now, modern brides have so many beautiful varieties of flowers to choose from for their bouquets, and for the bouquets of the bridesmaids as well.

Here are some simple tips for choosing the perfect wedding bouquet:

1) Visit the available florists in your area so that you know your options. Take a look at their offerings and see different design ideas. This is also a good idea so that you know the price range that you can work with. Make sure to consult the florists at least eight months before the wedding, especially if your big day is scheduled for the holidays.

2) Choose flowers that are in season. If you want a beautiful wedding bouquet but you're on a limited budget, you can opt to order flowers that are in season in your location. This guarantees that costs will be cheaper.

3) Leaf through magazines or attend bridal fairs. Magazines specializing in weddings can give you not only design ideas, but also listings of florists whose services can cater to your budget. Bridal fairs offer you lots of design ideas and you can have the chance to meet florists who can offer you the best deal for your money.

4) Ask your friends and relatives for help. The cost of hiring other people to make your floral arrangements can add to your worries. If you have friends or relatives who can do this for you and have lots of design ideas, it's best to take that option. You might even have a relative that owns a flower shop.

5) Get creative. Most wedding bouquets are held in place by cone-shaped plastic pieces. If you don't mind breaking tradition, you can have your flowers arranged in a basket or a bucket, provided that it will look great with your gown.

6) The bouquet should compliment the dress, not overshadow it. Do not use bouquets with ostentatious design, or made with very large blooms. Remember that the bride should be the center of attention, not the flowers.

7) Consider the style of your wedding gown when choosing a wedding bouquet. For instance, if you'll be wearing a modern, Vera Wang dress with simple, clean lines, you can select a single lily as your bridal bouquet. If you'll be wearing a grand, Victorian-style dress filled with lace, you can complement it with a bouquet of lily of the valley and roses in full bloom.

8) You can break traditions. Instead of choosing traditional fresh blooms, you can actually use silk and dried flowers. You can use flowers that are not traditionally used by other brides. Also, you can go for unusual combinations, Just make sure that it will complement the design of your gown and the wedding venue.

wedding flowers

Flowers are special for every occasion but special mention should be made of weddings. You cannot imagine a wedding without floral decorations. The tradition of using flowers during wedding goes a long way. It has begun from the ancient times when herbs and spices were used for keeping the evil spirits at bay.

But before you decide about the floral arrangement in your wedding, you need to remember some important points. These are:

a) You should be very particular that the flowers match the theme of the wedding. It is also preferable that you use the seasonal and regional flowers for the decoration purpose.

b) Always take the help of a floral designer. This is because the floral designer would arrange the flowers as well as the lights and the linens keeping the theme in mind.

c) When you are making the bouquets for decorating the pillars then have the bouquet made of right kind of flowers. For this take the help of a florist.

d) When you talk to a florist about the floral decoration in the wedding, always keep the personal choices of the groom and the bride in mind. But always listen to the suggestion of the florist. After all they have the expertise and the talent too.

After you have decided the floral decoration according to the theme of the wedding, you need to decide what the places that need floral decoration are! Your list should include:

wedding flowers
1) The gate of the wedding venue where preferably an arch of flower should be made
2) The pillars of the hall which should have garlands
3) The lecterns and pulpits should also be decorated with petals
4) The kneeling bench where you can keep rose petals
5) The aisle can be decorated with wreaths or garlands
6) The bridal table, cake table and buffet table with petals or garlands.

It is preferable that you use fresh flowers for wedding decoration because then you get both beauty and fragrance. But those who prefer artificial flowers they can go for decorations made with silk flowers. These come with vibrant colors and their stems can be bent in many ways for making a good decoration. A good floral decoration should have a mix of both artificial as well as natural flowers. If you want to have a good artificial decoration in place, choose the heart door decoration. It is made with silk flowers and paper cut out in heart shapes.

After making the floral arrangement for the wedding you would find how an ordinary venue can turn into breathtakingly beautiful place.

wedding gifts

It isn?t easy coming up with wedding gifts that are both special and unique because it seems a lot of ideas have already been thought of. If you don?t want your wedding guests saying ?been there, done that? when they eye the keepsakes you hand out during your wedding reception, then you really need to do a lot of work hunting down special and unique wedding gifts. A lot of times the best wedding gifts are the ones that come from our closest friends simply because they are the ones who know us best and are on very intimate terms with us. This does not mean that the best wedding gifts are the most expensive, take note. Rather, the best wedding gifts are those that come from the heart.

For instance, if you know the wedding couple like champagne a lot, then you might want to buy them a set of champagne glasses. You might even have these glasses engraved with a special message, or the names of the happy couple and the date of their marriage. If champagne glasses are a bit dear as far as cost is concerned, then try pooling your funds with other friends of the couple. This should help you spread around the cost so that you can still present the couple with a valuable gift they can treasure for generations without wiping out your personal savings.

wedding gifts
A less common type of wedding gift could be time capsules for the wedded couple. A time capsule basically is a can or tube that will contain mementos prized by the wedded couple which they can store away somewhere (some might even bury the time capsule under ground) so that years later they can unearth the time capsule and re-examine the contents. The value of a time capsule is really in the memories the contents will evoke in the person viewing the contents. A cheap trinket placed in a time capsule could be worthless to a burglar but to the wedded couple it may represent that first real date when they realized that they were really in love to one another. A faded rose whose petals have come loose would be garbage to your househelp but to you the rose petals will bring back memories of the first time your hubby proposed to you. Though a time capsule is a pretty simplistic type of wedding gift, it may provide great benefits to you as far as intimate wedding gifts are concerned.

wedding gifts
Monogrammed stuff might have become a clich? as far as valuable wedding gifts go but actually many wedded couples love monogrammed stuff. It helps make them realize that they are really, truly a married couple now while at the same time putting value on their individuality. A bathrobe with his initials on it could have a different color and type of font from a bathrobe with her nickname and a particular type of embroidery affixed on the back. If you have friends who give such monogrammed stuff to you, say thanks because at least you realize that you still have an identity as an individual even if you are now part of a two-some.

wedding cake

You’ve got to admit it, cake designers are getting pretty creative these days. Wedding cake designs are not just limited to plain white wedding cakes with white icing flowers and a plain old wedding cake topper on top anymore. No way, wedding cake designs you’ll notice now are showing wedding cakes in all sorts of shapes, designs, colors, and accessories. If you can dream up your ideal wedding cake design, then chances are that some bakery or baker will be able to make it up to your specifications. But, there can be a downside. With so many choices in wedding cake designs, what happens when you just can’t choose the one you want for your wedding, or find that perfect wedding cake design picture that goes along with your dream wedding cake? Here are some basics of wedding cake designs that you’ll need to decide, and other accessories you can use.

Wedding Cake Designs - The Tiers

One of the first things you’ll need to be deciding when talking to your bakery about wedding cake designs in what kind of tiers you want on your wedding cake, how big (in diameter) the tiers should be, and how many tiers you’ll need. The number of guests you are expecting for your wedding is a great indicator on how many tiers and how large each tier should be. Your bakery should be able to tell you approximately how many servings you’ll have with the different number of tiers and the sizes of each tier. Now for what kind of tiers. The two basic kind of tiers you choose from are round tiers or square tiers. Then, if you choose square tiers, you’ll need to decide if you want them all straight, or to have each tier turned for a more funky look. To help you choose your wedding cake designs in this area, your bakery should be able to show you what each wedding cake design would look like.

Wedding Cake Designs - Colors and Flavors

Next, when choosing from the different wedding cake designs, you’ll need to decide what flavor of cake you want, if you want any kind of filling, and what flavor and color you’d like the icing to be. These cake flavors, depending on your bakery of course, can be any flavor that you choose. See my article on White Wedding Cakes to see what I did, and how you can have fun with your wedding cake flavors.

Wedding Cake Designs - Decorations

This is really where bakeries get creative for their wedding cake designs. There are so many different ways to decorate wedding cakes, that I don’t even know if I can cover them all, but I’ll try. You can choose a wedding cake design that is done purely of icing or fondant. Basket weave is a popular decoration for cakes, as well as polka dots or stripes. Also, my bakery used sugar flowers of different colors poked into the icing (see the picture in my Wedding Cake Topper article for a picture of my cake). Or, you can use fresh flowers, ribbon, crystals, or even fake pearls lining each tier. The number of wedding cake designs is limited only to your imagination, so plan away.

wedding cake
There are lots of wedding cake designs to choose from, and it took me long time to find the one I wanted. In fact, I even changed my order a few weeks before the wedding when I found a picture of a wedding cake design that I liked better than the one I had. So take your time, find a wedding cake design that you really love, and enjoy !

wedding decorations

Walking down the aisle is one of the most important moments in a wedding. For me, and I’m sure for you all, want a beautiful wedding with quality decorations.

The aisle needs to be decorated to the max. I think it’s so beautiful when the aisle is decorated with an array of flowers, elegant bows and draped with tulle. Choosing the right material and style of these items is crucial to the end result.

You can decorate using tulle tying it in bows or wrapping wedding favors. No matter how you use the tulle it’ll definitely add to the whole magic of the event. You can buy tulle in rolls and it’s very inexpensive. The Tulle Rolls that I found come in a lot of different colors so it can fit perfectly with your theme colors.

I personally think red tulle wrapped around white and red rose arrangements with a white aisle runner would be gorgeous. I also found a bow that would be beautiful to decorate the aisle or even the getaway car. It’s a delicate White Net Lace Pull Bow that goes perfectly with tulle.

Well, decorating your ceremony in a way that you love is the most important thing. I suggest you check out a bunch of items and make your dream wedding come true.
